from mass shooting events at schools, yes.
it's far lower if you factor in the difference an appropriate police response can make on the number of fatalities, or go back pre-Columbine.
But (again) that points to issues other than "weapon access" as more important to address.
There's been 32 deaths in mass school shootings since Parkland in 2018.
And that is including the 10 dead in Santa Fe, where the killer used a pump shotgun and a .38 revolver.
So 4 years, 32 deaths...we're now at 8 with the Uvalde killings.
Imagine what it would be if the first police to identify the killer had engaged the killer and triggered their "fight/flight" response...

96% of firearms are unregistered, but they expect to have them all registered in 10 years...seems overly optimistic.I've only skimmed this but you may want to give it a read

I feel like if you're trying to get people to turn in their guns, you shouldn't try to low ball the fuck out of them on the buyback price.
that's why you have to have the "Search & Seizure Squad" to act on citizens' reports of unregistered firearms.
That's a lot of room for selective enforcement.

The UK averages 0.23 deaths a year since 1996 from school shootings. Which is the year the last school mass shooting event that happened. It is known as the Dunblane massacre in which 6 children were killed. In the aftermath the UK government put in strict rules which outlawed the private ownership of most handguns and the public was like yeah that seems fair. They instituted a gun buy back program to compensate gun owners as well.
Trust the math
Guess all those parents can rest a little easier now know nobody’s guns are being taken and if you do the math it really less kids killed this year.
