That is well within what the secret service would consider a threat distance. With a rifle and scope, that isn't an overly difficult shot. Especially from an elevated position, lying prone and aiming at a stationary target.

The media is saying it was an "AR style" rifle - which for those dipshits just means it was black. An AR isn't really a great choice for a long range snipe unless it is built specifically for that purpose. It will be interesting if we get any details on the weapon.

The roof isn't flat. It has a rise in the middle. Not a lot, but it does. It has four sections, the middle two have a rise.

It was an AR, you can see it in one of the images that was released late last night where the gun is near the peak of the roof and the body has slid down near the bottom. An AR style rifle could mean anything from a 9mm to a .308. 150 yards is not far for an AR rifle to shoot.

I'd bet the guy was laying near the top using it to rest the gun similar to what one of the SS snipers was doing.

I think the guy was fairly familiar with guns given he was wearing a Demolition Ranch shirt in one of the pics that was released of him in the past. Those shots sounded quiet to me, so I think it was toward the lower end of the spectrum caliber wise.

His shot was actually right on judging by the pic where you can see the bullet. If Trump didn't turn his head to look in that direction, that would've been a hit.
