Also, 1 more possibility to consider
If Jones was merely involved in a car accident. Why the silence?
A statement saying "The UFC can confirm Jon Jones was involved in a car accident. Unfortunately he will be forced to withdraw from his fight at UFC 187. However, contrary to initial reports, there was no wrong doing and this was just a case of an unfortunate accident"
If it was JUST a car accident, without any of the bad shit attached.. Why not just say that to put the rumor mill to rest? A rumor mill that is so strong it gives off a really bad image of their champion?
Again.. if it was just a regular car accident.. the UFC could easily end this entire thing by saying Jones was involved in an accident and it's very unfortunate but everyone is ok and there is nothing criminal related to the matter at all.
But they have not.. and apparently, his own coach and his opponent know nothing about the situation. You think they'd be the first ones to know.
I feel like if it were a simple accident, it'd be an open and shut case and they wouldn't be quiet for this long. At least that's what I feel
Maybe I'm completely wrong, and honestly, I hope I am. I do not wish any ill will on the guy. But if he DID fuck up and smash into cars, leaving the scene with drugs in his car/body.. then I have zero sympathy for him. Considering the DUI and the coke issue before, you can't help but speculate that this is every bit as bad as it seems.
