It saddens me to see this. I get it though, it's hard to be in a position where you feel like you could be risking it all to stand up and speak out for what's right. But on the other hand, we need so much more of that. To me, if you stand up for what's right, you'll find yourself standing taller and having gained more than you ever thought you lost. This whole scarcity mindset that we have in our culture leads to so many sitting idly by and allowing bad intentions to win out, I just hate to see it man, especially with these fighters. I so want for them ALL to stand up, stand together and drive some real change in this sport.

they probably don't want to see the ufc give him as few fights as possible, so he has nothing to live on.

I believe that the money BLAF was talking about is the fee Reebok is paying to Zuffa to be the exclusive clothing supplier. All of that money over the next 6 years will go to the fighters.

What Zuffa isn't saying is that any sponsors that are featured on the clothing pay a separate fee which goes directly to Zuffa. Reebok and Monster are paying a separate fee apart from the exclusivity fee.

When BLAF says all the money goes to the fighters, he means the exclusivity fee. Not the sponsoring fee. As well I am to understand that there are "Administration fees" that are taken out of the exclusivity fee as well but that is not proven just yet.

In addition to the cr@ppy fee structure. Fighters will get a percentage of the clothing packages that they wear when fighting when these packages are are sold in stores. Stores however can carry whatever fighter clothing package they want so there is also no guarantee fighters will even have the clothing available in stores. How can you get a percentage of something that isn't available to be purchased?

After finally reading into all the details... I actually can't believe this. THIS might actually be
the thing":. This might be the one thing that we look back on 10 years from now that we say "that was what really started the death of the UFC"

If a guy like SCHAUB who is barely top 10.. is making over 100k per fight..and now he is getting cut to 10k?

That's literally 90% of his income slashed away to have a stupid logo on their clothing and some free shoes.

Like I said.. this may very well be it. This might be the one thing that pushes the fighters too far and makes them leave.

With Bellator's exposure and platform.. you know, a lot of guys are going to see the fact they can make WAY more money as a mid tier guy in Bellator.. and jump ship

This is just sad, pathetic and ridiculous.

The ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR sponsor tax "to keep the slimy companies out" (as Dana said.. really meaning... so we can take money and get fighters less sponsors)... that was bad enough

And now they are doing this. This is literally changing their lives, taking away so much income that they might not even be able to pay for camps and hell, even pay their own bills, the way they used to.

Ramsey Nijem noted that he made more money on sponsors on his 2nd UFC fight ever, which was a Facebook prelim, than he will make now.

Fuck this company. They really don't care anymore. Maybe the rumors of the UFC being sold is true because why the fuck else would they try to hurt the fighters so badly? Other than the UFC getting paid from Reebook.. this entire thing does NOT do anything good for the fighters. What is the point of this again? It's literally solely hurting fighters. NO ONE is gonna make more money off of this. No fighter is better off because of this

Again. As I said - no fighter is better off for this, and this only hurts them.

So why is it eve happening? What a fucking shame.

Sorry for the rant. I just have caught up on the news 100% and actually read about exactly what is happening here

It's fucking sad. I don't see how, in any way, this is a good thing for the fighters. You know, the people who make this entire company even a thing. The people we pay to see. The people who shorten their lives and put their bodies on the line for this sport. The ones that actually deserve to be taken care of.

Why the fuck is this happening? Even if it's a corporate move, why are the fighters making such little money? WHY?
