We had an Arab guy walk up the front steps of parliament shooting people. It was a Conservative government at the time. He was a "Lone wolf" the Pulse nightclub shooting was by an Arab, he too was described as a "Lone Wolf"Don't see many Arab mass killers get classified as lone wolves, even though most work alone.
i hope you and your family remain safe. this is a truly tragic event and it could breed more, unjustified violence. be careful out thereFather in law made a statement pretty much summing up how we all feel.
Las Vegas shooter's brother lives in Orlando, 'completely dumbfounded' by massacre
Not many folks should have access to that type of artillery as it is.The debates on gun control are going to be crazy going forward.
This was going to be my original post but I don't want to get into "stats show that this isn't related" type argument as I don't know the numbers. Having said that I can't see any sound reasoning for a civilian to own an automatic weapon with that much ammo. It usually is justified with "because I can" or "it's my right". As a Canadian I will never understand Americans love for thier gun culture. It seems quite crazy tbh.Not many folks should have access to that type of artillery as it is.
I agree. He was using a fully automatic weapon which is already illegal. Both sides can use this as an example to support their position on the issue. The debates on gun control are going to be crazy going forward.
As in one side saying don't make them accessible as things like this will happen and the other side saying these things happen so I need to protect myself?I agree. I thought that was true as well, but heard on the radio this morning there is a path to legally owning an automatic rifle in the US.I agree. He was using a fully automatic weapon which is already illegal. Both sides can use this as an example to support their position on the issue.

Precisely. Many of the "gun nuts" out there support the laws we have in place because restricting gun ownership does nothing but take the guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens. The criminals will still find a way to get them.As in one side saying don't make them accessible as things like this will happen and the other side saying these things happen so I need to protect myself?
Full auto guns were banned federally for public sale in (I believe) 1985. That makes them absurdly expensive, so even if they're legal there's a huge barrier to entry.I thought that was true as well, but heard on the radio this morning there is a path to legally owning an automatic rifle in the US.
Ffs... I literally got gut rot watching that. I feel horrible for that man and his entire family as they will be bombarded with bs until those fucks get something they feel is worth running with. Every word and a room with be under the microscope hunting for a headline.
It has to be surreal to see family members on the news like this. I wish you guys well, bro.
He’s just as shocked as we are. Luckily we haven’t made any comments to any official media outlet or we’d be in the same position.Ffs... I literally got gut rot watching that. Nevada is on one of the scale and places like DC and Maryland are on on the opposite end. We joke about how everyone in Texas gets a gun when they turn 10 but they don't have shit on what's capable in Nevada.I thought that was true as well, but heard on the radio this morning there is a path to legally owning an automatic rifle in the US.
"Per Newsweek,Nevada's lax gun laws includethat firearms owners don't need licenses, don't need to register their guns, and can own as many as they like. The outlet also reported that "automatic assault weapons and machine guns are also legal in the state as long as they are registered and are possessed in adherence to federal law, according to the National Rifle Association." In addition, gun-owners in the state may carry weapons openly without a permit and can also get a license to carry concealed. Guns with high-capacity magazines are allowed."
Why Aren't Fully Automatic Guns Illegal? Las Vegas Has Extremely Permissive Firearm Laws
Again I don't know stats/numbers but I just can't see that what you posted is true. To say it does nothing but the above seems wrong.because restricting gun ownership does nothing but take the guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens.
