    First use of rubber guard in mma?

    I've been going through all my old mma events and watching them in chronological order, up to 2006. I'm watching pride bushido 12, 8/27/2006, and I saw shinya aoki use rubber guard on his opponent, and I can't recall anybody using it in an mma match prior to this date.
