Are you basing that on having watched it or just assuming? I can tell you if you haven’t seen it that it’s not what it appears to be. It’s neither a remake of nor sequel to the Andy Griffith series of the same title. It does reference it when the main character speaks of her early career as an attorney when the show was current, saying people used to ask, “Oh, like the TV show?”
Damn it was just going to say this! Blew me away when I found out, I never watched big bang or young sheldon but my wife does. First time I heard her speak while walking thru the living room was wow, that sounds just like Metcalf, looked it up and sure enough, it's her daughter.
The only reason Sheldon isn’t as irritating on BBT as he is on YS is there’s always Walowitz (sp?) to compare him to. He’s the last reason to watch YS, the rest of the cast is the draw. There’s also the incongruity that the child Sheldon comes off as more adjusted and mature than adult Sheldon. The kid version is supposed to be seen as evolving (devolving?) into the adult version but they never quite got there. Maybe a full final season would have closed that loop better. All that being said, the poignancy of the last couple of episodes with his attempts to come to grips with George’s death got the room dusty.I still don’t really care for it.
The new episodes came a few days ago. Solid as fuck. Now it's gonna suck waiting a year for another season...
