The crazy-eyed lady at my station gave me hell for not folding my ballot correctly. I'd folded it according to the fold lines and none of it was visible. "How would you like me to fold it?" I asked. "Exactly the way I had it!" she huffed. I so wanted to bust out an origami Hitler.

thats funny as fuck because I was high as can be when I filled out my ballot and it took me longer to remember how it was folded than to fill it out haha.
She was one of those types who seems annoyed at you because you're prepared with your ID and ready to go and she looks at it for a minute hoping it's done in crayon and she gets to tell you no. She was picking these types of squabbles with everyone except for fellow sourfaces. I have no problem with valid authority but petty authoritaaah is the worst. I wonder how she's voting.

Regardless of how you voted today, congratulations to everyone who took the time to do it, it's very cool that we have the right to vote when you consider how many people don't.

CTV is already calling the election.
With the current standing at 51 ridings leading or elected for the Liberals, 13 for the Conservatives, four for the NDP and none for other parties, the national broadcaster made the call just after 6:30 p.m., before polls had closed in B.C. and with 270 ridings yet to report any numbers.
A red tide began in Newfoundland and Labrador — where Liberals were on track to sweep all seven seats — and also spread into Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I. in the early going.
The governing Conservatives held 13 of Atlantic Canada's 32 seats and the NDP held six when the election was called, but Liberals were leading in all 32 of the region's ridings in early vote counting, and were picking up almost two out of every three votes cast.
High-profile Tories and New Democrats went down to defeat in the east, including Fisheries Minister Gail Shea and Aboriginal Affairs Minister Bernard Valcourt, and NDP deputy leader Megan Leslie.
Liberals held just 36 seats across the entire country when the election was called Aug. 2.
