Remember when you told us all not to wear masks? Classic.
And when we're done with this pandemic it will make no sense for everybody to be wearing masks again.

But just like you kept claiming that everybody is lying because Wuhan death rate estimations were too high, even though they had been estimated to be 1% or less for months and months, here is you once again clinging on to the past to try to make a current point even when conditions changed.

How many deaths and cases do we need to get down to to be allowed to spread disease freely again?

I did what?

I also assume the following quoted post is directed at me, I have no idea what point you're trying to make though.

Background risk for our usual daily life should be enough for everyone in my estimation.

That's my line in the sand for almost anything related to health. This stops being one of the top killers of Americans and I'm done thinking much about it. Even at this point the moment it stops threatening healthcare overruns I don't really care anymore since you can get vaccinated pretty freely And I deal with infectious disease all the time.

It is those who can't get vaccinated and the healthcare overruns that make this a shared decision model and not just an individual issue.

And it isn't just about "spreading disease freely". It's about resource allocation and risk benefits analysis.

You're kind of burying the lead, Doc. This hubub all started because they were worried about a 3-5% mortality rate.

As quoted above, you bring up outdated data that everybody has seen the reasons it changed and evolved. In a conversation in June of 2020 about excess deaths, and for which the estimated death rate of coronavirus was 0.5 to 1% by pretty much everybody since February of 2020, you hearken back to January of 2020 for 3% to make a point.

And in similar fashion in September of 2021, you feel it's a good point that in February of 2020 I recommended that mask are most effective on sick people and don't make much sense on well people unless it enclosed space such as public transport or airplanes, or caring for their family member. That while masking both the well and the sick probably is better than just the sick, it's not a great resource utilization.
This was zero community USA cases and then later on around the time of the evergreen outbreak.
Since this period, there have been millions of cases and case densities such that contact tracing has been abandoned and we do not have a technology to early detect coronavirus while somebody is shedding it. Thus as I quoted myself above, as I've said many times, mask or simply admission over a lack of technology to identify the sick before they get others sick.

And punchline, you referencing me telling people that it's not great to wear mask in February of 2020 has nothing to do with September 2021 and it's not a very good point.

I went back and looked for this comment because I was unsure of the context. Turns out I explained it then too.

I've been wrong about multiple things throughout the pandemic, and I have no issue with eating my crow and going on about my business. But multiple times in recent weeks when Fauci saying masks are probably harmful in the early days of the pandemic has come up I've watched you call people out "Where did he say that!?" not as if the opinion has evolved, but as if it was never a thing that happened at all. So now watching you joke about "loving masks" I thought "Hey, maybe I'll make a joke too." I didn't think it escalate quite like this, but hey, it is what it is.

Actually have not. Once I asked about that topic because I have only read it here once...
Heres that question.

Did he actually said they would make you sick?

It's an actual question because unlike you guys I'm not glued to the television or YouTube on this topic and have only seen whatever Fauci is posted in this thread and various social media. I get my Fauci news almost entirely from written text in news articles and here where the videos are mostly critical. I have literally never watched Fauci on television.

And that still has nothing to do with me. My opinion of mask has nothing to do with Fauci. It's just your interpretation that that question to is anything other than an actual question.

You're correct, and I apologize.

I appreciate the apology but don't really need it. I know you don't mean anything by it. It's fair to assume there's a lot of sarcasm going on in this thread. By myself as well and my love of F22 pilots.

I'd still like to see the video or link to him saying that mask gets you sick. The only way I can rationalize that statement is in the context that people wearing their masks wrong and messing around with it touches their face more often and they normally would. And if case density is low now I'm touching my face a bunch with all the other organisms that we normally worry about getting infected with.
But I mean I would just counter that by also mentioning the right way to wear a mask.

But you should still get the hybrid Tundra, pussy.

I'm probably 4 years out before I look at another truck. However unless rivian really makes a great showing, a tundra hybrid is in my future. If the upcoming model had been out when I bought my truck, I would have easily picked it over the rest of the competition. It's basically solved every single complaint about the current truck that I could possibly come up with while maintaining all the good stuff.

I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that trade-ins are currently getting historically high prices...

Ron DeSantis' New Surgeon General Appeared in 'Demon Sperm' Doctor's COVID Conspiracy Video
In July 2020, Ladapo appeared in a 43-minute viral video as part of a group called America's Frontline Doctors. None of the doctors in the video were epidemiologists or immunologists best qualified to speak on infectious diseases,
I'd like to apologize for ever saying that the "Florida Man" jokes are inaccurate.
