Headed to work. 5hours only. Not because of Covid19 but because someone died at work.
The Finney County Sheriff’s Office said an employee at the Tyson plant was killed early Monday.

Deputies responded to the plant for a man not breathing. EMS transported the man, identified as 30-year-old Kendrick Gregory of Garden City, to the hospital where he died.

The Finney County Sheriff’s Office said their initial investigation showed that Gregory was doing maintenance on the harvest assembly line when he was pulled up by harness against a takeaway belt. Another co-worker was able to cut him free.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is continuing.
That investigation lasted a day.

Not sure how accurate this really is. It is being put out by the California Nurses Union.
I worked for Kaiser for 5 years in the injury and cast clinic (was working there we I joined here) and they have a strong union backing the nurses. I did not work in California but I could not imagine them trying to fire nurses for something like that. Could be a preemptive move by the union or if legit some administrator losing their mind (and hopefully there job).

That's an interesting perspective Yossarian @Yossarian

Over here I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of Yellow Peril cold war propaganda and I thought I would post the Blumenthal article as a sort of antidote. I do enjoy The Intercept so I guess I'm probably biased.
Never let a good crisis go to waste.

The outbreak has been politicized, and we find ourselves in the middle. I try to stick with what is factual, so I tend to stay away from rhetorical media. China wants to look good, America wants to look good, the left, the right, the political world is not letting this crisis go to waste.

Everybody is to blame. Especially China is known to have it's "unauthorized" history, and that goes back to The Great Leap Forward, Tiananmen Square, etc. Again, not to single out Chinese people or to incite hatred towards them, but we need to stick with what is factual. Information coming from China is monitored and regulated, it is not free flowing. For the WHO and western press to take that information at face value is not only naive, it is dangerous. I wish it was otherwise, but it is not.

They can run their country however they want, but when they withhold knowledge about a virus that is dangerous for the world, there should be consequences.

It's gross negligence.

Not only withholding information, Chinese scientists have warned for years about the threats of these viruses in connection with wet markets, eating exotic animals, etc. These people have been shut down, arrested, or simply ignored. There's a lot of Chinese that would want this to stop, but like the demand for @Rhino horns, and all these draconian practices will keep people risking it due to the monetary incentives.

There absolutely should be consequences. They've been able to manage to sweep their own disasters under the rug, but the dirt is piling up and is leaving the house.

this shit is so crazy~ it's like the entire world took a hero's dose of a strong psychedelic.

right now, we've passed the big bang stage, when the psychedelics starts to kick in.

we're still at a stage where we're struggling with our inner selves and have trouble letting go of the past and every aspect of our lives are being tested at the highest level

soon, we'll be transitioning to really looking in to see the flaws in each and every one of us

errr... I hope the come down phase gets here sooner than we presume.

looking forward to the "morning glow" at the end of the trip, where we can smoke a joint, listen to some good tunes, and look forward to carry on with our new lives.

stay safe everyone
