literally what an appeal to authority looks like in the wild.
betadine is the business, everyone should have some in the medicine cabinet.
I even like the context of the appeal. "I took an exam!"literally what an appeal to authority looks like in the wild.
beautiful.
amazing.
It's not an appeal to authority, his qualifications were demanded.literally what an appeal to authority looks like in the wild.

I think dumbing it down to "I took an exam" is thinning that a bit too much.I even like the context of the appeal. "I took an exam!"
I just noticed that wording to be funny. It wasn't "I had to pass a class." It was "I took an exam." There's also that taking a course as part of a program doesn't necessarily make you an expert on all matters under that subject. Ie, I can guarantee you that he did not study the effects of people wearing cloth masks they never change and don't wash. Of course that's without unpacking the value of his credentials as it relates to virology.I think dumbing it down to "I took an exam" is thinning that a bit too much.

I'm not mad at it.Royal College of Fancypantaloons, they call tests and most other things by stoupid wourds.
And his credentials, to me, are worthless because metric system.
Pounds, inches, feet motherfuckers!
That may read a little harsh but these Eurofolk...
I guarantee you that he didn't study for his exam by looking at Facebook memes that his auntie posted and watching YouTube videos with spooky background music and pictures of Bill Gates in the thumbnail.I just noticed that wording to be funny. Agree to disagree?I guarantee you that he didn't study for his exam by looking at Facebook memes that his auntie posted and watching YouTube videos with spooky background music and pictures of Bill Gates in the thumbnail.
??
That's true.I guarantee you that he didn't study for his exam by looking at Facebook memes that his auntie posted and watching YouTube videos with spooky background music and pictures of Bill Gates in the thumbnail.

This is a good and moral stance under most circumstances, but there are also hundreds of thousands if not millions of people taking pride in obstinately refusing to engage in even basic prevention tactics like wearing masks, not having massive gatherings and refusing vaccination. These things increase the likelihood that others will die. It's not much different from someone carelessly flicking a lit cigarette into a dry forest or driving drunk routinely. You're right to say celebrating death is cruel, but the wanton carelessness and diaregard of many of the people being lampooned in this thread who say it's just not their problem or altogether imaginary in the face of other grieving families is arguably much more cruel.Ya
I'm staying out of it...It is what it is
I'm not celebrating anybody getting hurt or dying whether from covid pre vaccine, covid post vaccine, or from the vaccine itself
Sadly there are hundreds of thousands of people taking pride in threads like this and hunting down things to post, regardless of their validity
Welcome to another level of the divide and conquer...2020 and 2021 has really turned some folks into monsters IMO
I wish all good health and freedom of choice

So your not into freedom of choice. This is a good and moral stance under most circumstances, but there are also hundreds of thousands if not millions of people taking pride in obstinately refusing to engage in even basic prevention tactics like wearing masks, not having massive gatherings and refusing vaccination. I don't think there's anything about agendas here that can be gleaned from that article.@JakePaulsBeard
inaccuracies and agendas in hospitalization counts?
Our Most Reliable Pandemic Number Is Losing Meaning
A new study suggests that almost half of those hospitalized with COVID-19 have mild or asymptomatic cases.www.theatlantic.com
I think you should reread my post.So your not into freedom of choice.
It is a lot different than driving drunk or starting a forest fire FYI.
I think your way off on this my friend.
The unvaccinated are guilty of nothing, you are assuming a healthy person is sick...you are assuming they are harming people.
That is called profiling. Your better than that.
I hope in time you can realize where your current line of thinking leads.
"Everybody should get on the booster plan or they are doing harm to everybody around them" is one of the most ridiculous lines of thinking I have ever seen pushed.
I read it.I think you should reread my post.
Might want to read it one more time.I read it.
You likened not being vaccinated to driving drunk routinely or flicking a lit cig into the forest.
To me that is ludicrous.
I do not view people not getting vaccinated as carelessness, I view it as freedom of choice...The science is really shaky regarding this vaccine. It was sold as one thing and the goalposts have been moving ever since it proved to not be that.
We agree on not celebrating or enjoying the death of a person from vaccine, no vaccine, or covid...I guess that is what counts.
Am i missing the part about millions of people not wearing masks, gathering in numbers, and refusing vaccination?Might want to read it one more time.
IIRC, testing is universal at the VA.
I don't think there's anything about agendas here that can be gleaned from that article.
Their methodology is good. Hunting for oxygen use is probably a good metric.
The big thing would be to caution the VA where they are not under the same pressure to keep patients in observation status or get them home as We usually are in every other hospital system.
There's not a single coronavirus patient that's been admitted to my hospital that didn't require oxygen in the last year. We stopped putting anyone in for observation (a defined 24-hour. Which is classified as such and easily data mined because it does not inpatient) for simply having coronavirus over a year ago.
Positive? Sats are good? Dyspnea precautions and go home.
Likewise testing is not universal and it's not universal in most hospitals here. I do see that happening in academic centers though and I'm not sure what proportion of patients are being treated there.
Yes that's what I was referencing. The article says they are universal and I'm saying that I don't think that's true in most places otherwise... outside of academic centersIIRC, testing is universal at the VA
gotcha. i assume that's the case, but they do mention that they have trend correlation in places that don't have universal testing.Yes that's what I was referencing. The article says they are universal and I'm saying that I don't think that's true in most places otherwise... outside of academic centers
