A postal worker whose allegation of ballot-tampering was at the center of Republican efforts to challenge the outcome of the presidential election has admitted to investigators that Project Veritas actually penned the affidavit laying out his claims. A two-hour audio recording released by Project Veritas on Wednesday shows Richard Hopkins being interviewed by federal investigators over his claim, first publicized by Project Veritas, that he had overheard a postmaster instructing workers in Erie, Pennsylvania, to backdate mail-in votes to meet the Election Day deadline. The audio had been touted by the conservative group as proof that Hopkins was manipulated by investigators but still stood by his allegations, despite House Democrats saying earlier this week that the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General told them Hopkins admitted to fabricating the claims.

But instead, it captured him doing the very opposite, according to The Washington Post. When he was asked if he wanted to stick with his claim about ballot-tampering, Hopkins said, “At this point? No.” He said his allegation had stemmed from “assumptions” he made after overhearing tidbits of staffers’ conversations in the mail facility. Hopkins told investigators not only that his affidavit was written by Project Veritas but that he wasn’t even entirely sure of what the group had included in it because he was in “so much shock I wasn’t paying that much attention to what they were telling me.” A spokesman for Project Veritas acknowledged having a hand in the affidavit but insisted that the “affidavit was drafted with Mr. Hopkins’ input and requested revisions,” according to the Post.

Considerations:
He can get in trouble for false statements to the government, he can't get in trouble for false statements to us.
There are outtakes of recording and it sounds like there is some "you better be fucking sure as the whole nation is now in on this case" and also some agents verybally beating up on his because that's what asshole agents do. Possible the guy just lost his nerve or that he is just angry now after being put on the hot seat to state who what where why.

I'd believe the guy if Project Veritas weren't involved (well that and he didn't deny his written statement after the IG investigation started). It's not clear what his statement said so it could also be a technicality where he stated something assumed as fact, etc. etc. but it doesn't change his overall claim.
Like Rudy, Project Veritas is that guy that has bullshitted so many times you can't trust them. Their mere presence should have raised suspicion for everyone.
The USPS guy operated a gofundme and the agents ask about that, trying to make sure that this guy set that up and he's not being a paid pawn to push a story and then get kickbacks or otherwise.
Project veritas uses this audio to demonize the agents (I get it, I've never heard a cop/agent interview that didn't sound like a jerk) but all I heard was agents telling a guy he better be sure his story is straight because there is national interest and him starting a gofundme has the potential to get him in trouble if the money is for anything other than him starting it and him receiving it. Indeed the guy himself does say project veritas instructed him to start and how to do it "they showed me how to push the buttons" and then he denies the money is for anything else.

If PV wrote the statement for him and then "showed him how" to make a gofundme, it could be on the up and up but also I think the agents questioning and focus is very valid.

"election food trucks" didn't help me find what you were talking about
Referencing some whacko Fox Business had on yesterday afternoon. Said she worked 24 straight hours where votes were being counted and 4 food trucks were allowed into the facility's garage but never sold any food.

How many ballots fit into 4 food trucks?

I couldn't hear her tin foil hat crumbling during the call, but I'm sure she was wearing one.

Sorry - Thought it was a thing. Haven't been paying too much attention to developments lately other than while I'm driving. Apparently it's another nothing burger.

Or is it?

Did you see the idiot Mitch was running against?

She never had a chance, even against a worthless geezer like Mitch.

Nobody would have believed she would have beaten him. She took 3 counties - and they contained the cities of Louisville, Lexington and Frankfurt.

I'm surprised she even got 38%. Kentucky better watch out or they will have 3 idiotic Dem counties passing laws for the entire rural commonwealth.
I am sure you aren't in favor of the countermeasures they are already taking to prevent this. I think the problem is the other way around.

By the way from the accused mail facility there were only two ballots received that were postmarked for November 3rd

There were quite a few more than that postmark for November 4th.

So not only do his accusations raise suspicion the reality is that there was no significant number of votes going through that station and especially not for the criteria he raised about moving postmarks back a day. The fact that so many more showed up November 4th then November 3rd is exactly the opposite of what he's claiming as well.

The other funny thing is that sorting station actually wasn't processing almost any ballots because of the USPS funding cuts I referenced earlier. Ballots were largely being sent to different facilities.

A quick Google search shows 20 polling locations for Jefferson County (Louisville) on Election Day.

Also - On Nov 3, public transport was free via the Transit Authority of River City to anywhere in the county.

And - not really your point but - I don't think Booker would have done any better against Mitch than McGrath did.

I do love the DITCH MITCH signs around here. Some folks HATE that dude.

As EVERYONE should. He and Pelosi are shining examples of what's wrong with politics in America.

People talk shit about Obama not getting anything done and yet they cheer for Mitch proudly exclaiming that he was the grim reaper and stifled any activity.

Neither deserves to be in office.
