You have to wonder how often this has actually happened and people didn't notice or investigate. A lot of local elections happen between presidential elections with much lower turnout and media interest. I would be surprised if this kind of thing were limited to Florida.
*But I think lying on your forms to run for office like that should invalidate the whole race and the election should be held again with only legitimate candidates. If a .5% difference can trigger an automatic recount (idk what it is in Florida specifically though), than an illegitimate candidate with more than .5% of the vote should trigger a re-vote.
*Especially if whatever amount of votes they took could have swung the election.

Trump will inevitably have to leave the WH. Unless there really is a coup. But when he leaves a lot of normal Republican voters will expect their party to snap back to somewhere near the middle. Albeit further to the right.
I can see Trump splitting the party 60 40 in his favour.
The Dems are split too. Will there be a four horse race next time round?
