Same here. I just went to Lowes to get pipe and fittings just in case.Well fuck..
My house has pex piping. There's a second distribution block to give water to an opposite end of the house. That end has no waters....pipes frozen.
So I go track down and the damn pipes run uninsulated through the attic. Soooo valves are all open and here's to hoping I don't have a leak when it all thaws.

That sucks.Well fuck..

PEX pipe will expand if frozen and contract to its original shape when thawed. But putting frequent stress on the system weakens it, increasing chances of failure and leaks. So, to preserve the strength of your pipes, you should use the same standard insulation precautions with PEX to keep it from freezing.
Thats where all the action is. The crackheads are in there like black bears at a garbage dumpIs that green one in the bottom left your place or the one with the grey double doors?
Turn the water off to the house and open your faucets if you're worried about it.Some
Nah, I have a hammer, pex pipe, and fittings ready to goTurn the water off to the house and open your faucets if you're worried about it.

That seems like a much easier solution...Nah, I have a hammer, pex pipe, and fittings ready to go
Ya that doesn't sound smartran waterlines in the attic - that is crazy to me. Can't believe that's code.
People are putting full on mechanical rooms in attics now it’s fuckedEvery hour, turn on each faucet to get the water running. Doesn't need to be for long. 20 seconds. Sinks, showers. Hot & Cold.
If you feer your exterior insulation is shit, open up the doors on sink bases.
Close valves for outdoor lines and open the spigot full. Make sure you don't have a hose attached.
Not much you can do if they ran waterlines in the attic - that is crazy to me. Can't believe that's code.
Like furnaces and hot water tanks in a residential attic?People are putting full on mechanical rooms in attics now it’s fucked
Mostly hot water tanks but ayeLike furnaces and hot water tanks in a residential attic?
Anything to squeeze a couple more usable square feet into a new build.Mostly hot water tanks but aye
that makes sense. put the hot water tank in the most inconvenient place where it will do the most damage when it fails ......Anything to squeeze a couple more usable square feet into a new build.
They've turned houses into disposable products, bruv. If you sell someone a new build that they should expect to be out of in 10 years, a hot water tank that leaks in 15 isn't a problem.that makes sense. put the hot water tank in the most inconvenient place where it will do the most damage when it fails ......
Not usually, noDo they not use tankless water heaters in new builds? That’s what I have and my house is almost four years old.
I've heard they've improved in recent years, but the criticism of them for a long time was that they don't cut it in cold temps because they regulate pressure to insure proper temp.Do they not use tankless water heaters in new builds? That’s what I have and my house is almost four years old.
