I only have one issue with gladiator, and it only happens briefly, a couple times throughout the film. Ridley Scott decided to use slow motion in certain scenes, such as after Commodus stabs Maximus just before they fight. Not sure why but it ruined the immersion for me.
That's my only gripe. Great story, great acting, excellent score and the FX hold up 20 years later.

Loved it. One of the most uncomfortable and visceral movie watching experiences I can remember. Adam Sandler is incredible.

I fucking loved it. As oscars gets closer I think movie snobs might take a couple shots at it. Just because the plot is so lineal, and the story is so straightforward. However I enjoy a simple “here is your mission”, now go do the mission plot, when it is done this masterfully. I was fully invested and immersed. I loved it.

uncut gems is so overrated. Look guys, Adam sandler is actually acting and its drama! He is not playing a goofy retard but tries to take things seriously. Therefore It must be a masterpiece. Give me a break
It would have been great with anyone giving a strong performance in the lead role, but Adam Sandler nailed it. He is a really good actor. He was is great in Punch Drunk Love too.
If you had a problem with Adam Sandler going in, I could see you getting too distracted by it to enjoy the movie, but it is a great movie.

Punch Drunk Love of course, the only other movie where he took acting seriously so lets just crown him the king of the actors. Uncut gems - people yelling over each other, no one can hear what they are screaming about. It was a different kind of movie, thats great. But I just think this movie gets so much praise just because of adam sandler actually acting. Just like in punch drunk love
I bet you had decided you were going to feel that way about his performance before you even saw it.

I didnt know what to expect from his performance since he never takes his roles seriously. I am saying that he did well, just the movie was shit. People who dont think that movie sucked only feel this way because they were pleasantly surprised by his performance

I am not surprised. They are the only ones who are still willing to give him opportunities. His movies belong on streaming services because no one expects to get much entertainment from them. People will watch him just because he is adam sandler. I am one of those people
