Anyone want to give the summary of this ?
A green light for corruption and quid pro quo

Trevor Potter, president of Campaign Legal Center, a nonpartisan group that supports campaign finance laws, expressed disappointment at the ruling.

"Permitting candidates to solicit unlimited post-election contributions to repay their personal campaign loans and put the donor money in their own pockets gives an obvious and lamentable opening for special interests to purchase official favors and rig the political system in their favor," Potter said.

I read this as special interest groups were tired of seeing their guy not make it or not come through on the deal they had agreed on, so now they won't pay until the deal is in place.

This doesn't open the door for corruption. This guarantees it.

DC is a cesspool.

This is good but should have been done a month ago or more. We've been out of specialty formulas for a month. Premature babies are getting the wrong formula already. The moment the recall happened there was a shortage at stores and WIC offices. I think that was a full 2 months ago now. In such a critical item We shouldn't be waiting until there's nothing. The shortages started immediately.

Biden could have just removed the import tariffs and called it a day. Quickly skimming a press release on this baby formula bill it appears that it's just funding for the FDA.

The news this morning said that roughly 60% of all formula purchased in the US is through the WIC program. I always assumed that program was for low-income families, so the 60% amount surprised me.

Are rich moms just forcing their nannies to pump milk so they have no need for formula?

My assumption is Canada didn't have enough surplus to cover needs.

It is for low income families. Guess who has to work and doesn't have maternity care and so through. All of this is far less likely to breastfeed so they have to get formula.

In the United States increased breastfeeding is seen with increased social economic class.

We should have never blocked import of anything so crucial. But yes we could have done it rapidly and should have. We're moving at a snails pace on something so important

That makes sense.
60% still feels pretty high.

Are national inventory levels monitored?
How would Biden and group find out there was an issue - outside of empty shelves and panicked moms.
