Then they should pack their shit and move there instead of trying to force their poor life choices on the rest of us.
Dammit Bear#3, you just can't help yourself.

Look at little deeper here at your fellow countrymen. They are so completely fed up with their government that actively refuses to listen to it's citizens that they are willing to deal with the ramifications of what could be considered treason.

Thats how bad Canadian politics has become.

I love Canada, I've loved every Canadian I've ever met. Except 1, lol.

We are Brother Countries, we are from the same stock. We have always stood together when the big shit is going down in the world.

I have no problems with Canadians and as I said I would welcome them as Americans if this boondoggle actually happens. But your political system is even worse than ours, lol.
You always end up with some unholy union of minority parties winning.
It doesn't even make any sense when 27% get to take the reins. Thats a mockery of raw democracy.

Our 2 party system is fucked up too, don't get me wrong, but its not that ridiculous .

What your missing here is that you guys might be entering a revolution.

I must caution my American friends. Melanie Joly has donned designer battle fatigues today a la Zelensky.

The gloves are off now.

I mean, they're just using it as political leverage.

They are in the minority and I view them with the same contempt as the Bloc Québécois traitors.

Canada certainly has its problems, but I'd argue the US is far closer to collapse than Canada. And our main problem won't be returning next election.

It wasn't that long ago that Americans stormed the capitol in a violent bloodbath to overturn a democratic election / brave patriots tried to rescue the country from the grips of a corrupt government that was illegally holding power. (I included both iterations, pick whichever one you want based on which American news programing you watch)

This isn't parts of Oregon and Washington wanting to be part of Idaho because they feel underrepresented.

This would be like Arizona saying "we want to be part of Mexico please".

OK firstly, that article is all theoretical stuff about what might happen in the future. As of right now, Britain has absolute sovereignty over it's nuclear arsenal. The article is also from The Guardian, which is a left wing rag, and is from their "Letters" section, meaning some random person wrote that to them. I'm not sure why you're quoting it.

The second thing you posted is an excerpt from a Select Committee report, and acknowledges the fact that the Trident system was purchased from the USA, and so requires US help to maintain. This is similar to how the UK has purchased the F-35 from the USA, we don't need "permission" to fly those either.

" The UK’s nuclear deterrent is operationally independent. Only the Prime Minister can authorise the use of our nuclear weapons even if deployed as part of a NATO response. We would consider using our nuclear weapons only in extreme circumstances of self-defence, including the defence of our NATO allies."

Yeah, good point. I would still say, in the crazy hypothetical put forward by the hysterical Canadian politician Chrystia Freeland where Canada could piggyback on the UK to form a nuclear alliance against the US, that would be impossible to do. The US navy is solely responsible for the maintainance of the British weapons. But I was wrong to suggest you couldn't launch on your own.
