Upgrading to leather seats in the RV, lots of quality time with a welder and a micrometer. The new seats sit 2.5" taller, so I'm going to have to re-engineer the base. The passenger side is mocked up, the welding is done but it's clamped to the base instead of bolted. But the driver is bolted and powered.

It's turning out real nice, lots of moving the driver seat in and out to get it just perfectly square and centered. The passenger side I just picked a datum on the existing seat and fabricated by rule. I'll get a picture of how tight my clearances worked out, looks about factory.

The shitty thing is that after I do the base reduction, I'll probably be close enough to the original height that I could have used the factory feet and fabbed an adapter...but that's the way these things go.

You sure it's a Rasta? I thought it was a Fraggle ;)

ShatsBassoon @ShatsBassoon How many Fraggles do you employ? And will you take them with you to New Zealand?
too big to be a Fraggle, but maybe it's the shot perspective...like a really small, really heavy wall section that's really close.

it's like one of the drawings where it's a rabbit and a whore, depending on how you look at it.

Got ready for the opening of Teal and Early Canada season tomorrow am. It'll be the jet boat's maiden duck hunting voyage. Low wind and highs in the 80s,it will be a terrible morning hunting.

No more running the boat through the tops of submerged trees at night for this guy. Almost all the other added wiring has been covered with wire loom for an oem appearance and some added protection. I'll do the rest tomorrow when the 1 inch loom comes in.

It's a pain in the ass, but will be worth it in the end.
i spent basically an extra couple days on the RV seats, making sure I could keep the make it as functionally safe and 'from the factory that way' as was possible. It sucked drilling out bolts to keep the factory seat belt alarm and airbags, and it SUPER sucked modifying the stamped steel bases instead of just building it out of angle or tube steel.

but it looks about as close to factory as I can get it.

There's something to be said for attempting to make it look oem as possible when it comes to important things like electrical or structural safety stuff.

Drove a Bobtail truck in to get smogged, it passed.....in CA, an adventure in itself. While I waited, I played guitar and sang Pantera's Walk, Rainbow's Man On The Silver Mountain and Iron Maiden's Run To The Hills. Then I jerked off and had a beer.
