If the hype is all a hoax, why is the Trump administration spending so much time and money on press conferences and round tables to address the issue?

$7,500,000,000 being allocated... sounds like a hoax.

First of all, take the president into context (which you will never do). He never said the virus was a hoax. He said the politics the dems were playing were a hoax, and they are. The virus didnt start here, and no one, no country took this as seriousely as trump did. He took extreme heat from it, again with dems playing politics - hes racist! You cant stop the chinese from entering the country! Racist! This is the Trump virus.

Trump requested 2.5b (based on requests and conversations with the best infectious disease experts and doctors), dems flipped out, demanded 9b. Just throw money at the problem (ie. Let our cronies get rich) and that will solve the issue. Remember ebola? Obama threw money at that problem, assigned a tzar, and guess what? It's still alive and well.

So, sick since 25th, had it for hmm....let's say 2 weeks.
Delivered 5000 packages.
Those recipients opened them in front of their families, who went to work & school.

Some items were probably safety oriented, possibly re-sold.
It doesn't matter.

The PNW is 3 weeks from lockdowns.

So it sounds like the CDC had staff on retainer basically just cashing a free check from the government even though they were rarely, if ever, used. That's the definition of bloat and unnecessary spending.

Also not shocked to see politicians making false claims to attack their opponents. That's common practice. Why tell the truth when a lie works even better?

What on earth could go wrong?

For those that think the virus is far more spread than testing indicates (there is reason to believe you're right) do you also hold that the virus is less deadly than you're calculating? That would seem to go together since death rate = deaths: positive tests and not a ratio involving total infection.

As has been highlighted in the news, there seems to be some variation in test accuracy and testing strategies. But surely if we believe the outbreak is larger, then we must also consider that it is less deadly.

I'm here to eat my words. I had a patient on droplet precautions Monday and ran out of masks. I went to the stock cabinet to get a new box and found a note taped to an empty shelf. It read, "please see charge nurse or supervisor for masks."

Apparently cases of masks went missing over the weekend.
