Yes.
In medical School I had a rotation in which I regularly slept only 4 to 5 hours a night for 12 weeks.
Every fourth day I had to stay awake for 36-40 hours. After that 36-40 hours I was allowed 8 hours or so. Which of course averaged four to five hours for those two days as well.

By the end of 12 weeks I was kind of weird. That might be an understatement.

If you're only sleeping 3 hours a night, you're probably kind of weird now.
You fink I’m weird?

As far as I can tell that's what the "Mortgage deferrals" here are too.
and a mortgage deferral would be 'no late fees or payment for now', but speculators are getting their losses bought up by taxpayers. The lien holders are going to get their money eventually, and the speculators are already being made whole. Private Profits, Public Debts.

Don't kid yourself. Canada's no better. That $2k per month is only if you're out of work and it's taxed. I've got savings, but if I were paycheque to paycheque and ended up out of work due to covid, I'd be making about 40% of my normal income.
the devil is i n the details . it is up to 2000 a month and only if you have been completely out of work and do not qualify for EI. the majority of people wont even qualify

growing your own food is more important than ever right now

I disagree
We'll ignore for a second that it's impossible to grow your own food in any sort of meaningful way if you live in Michigan. Right now, if everyone decides to grow their food and stop buying it, it'll mean even worse things for the economy,

Someone like me, who's essential, but seeing a reduction in income because of all that's going on, I get jack shit.

don't you just mail order your seeds anyway?
I would for sure...I just think telling stores they can't sell seeds is rather ridiculous

I have enough seeds to grow food for 20 years here, but I am a lifelong gardener

Just saying it seems like an odd choice...no seeds allowed...but liquor, cannabis, tobacco are all "essential"

I don't know michigan at all...but I do know that you can grow food anywhere if you use lights or outdoor greenhouse
and some cold weather crops do fine with a harsh cold winter

The economy is beyond fucked already so I think being self sufficient is being proven to be very important

people growing their own food is a very small percentage of the pop, letting them grow food won't hurt supermarket sales that badly

just seems like overkill/over reach IMO

all good, I just found it odd

I'm reading that the testing has flattened out at ~100k tests/day...I wonder how much of the 'new cases' and 'new deaths' staying flat is due to that and how much is due to all of the non-pharmaceutical measures we've taken to reduce the spread.

but what's the logic in not allowing seeds to be purchased? is it just because Garden Stores are considered 'non-essential' in MI?
You'd have to ask Rambo John J @Inside Job what the deal is. My guess is that garden stores are non-essential.
Here the garden stores and home improvement stores are absolutely packed...precautions and distancing in place but very busy

But in some places there is no seed sales now...and also costco and walmart and target? are not gonna sell electronics and some other non essential stuff, this is only in certain regions...just seems odd to me

Personally, I'm doing my best to come out the other side of this without taking any of these "freebies" if someone needs EI, they've paid into that, cool. But this mortgage thing is freaking me out. Credit ratings work as "paid or not paid" there's no "the government says it's okay to miss a payment category" Even if they do sort that out, I can't help but think that when a person's mortgage comes up for renewal in a few years that they'll be told by the bank that their interest rate is higher than advertised because they've demonstrated themselves to be high risk.
