You can carve with one

You can juggle em
You can fire it up first thing in the am to piss off your neighbours.

Chainsaws have more torque per square inch than any cutting tool you're likely to find. Also you don't look like a sissy bed wetter, cutting down a tree with your sawzall!
A reciprocating saw does all that and rustle jimmies in a way a chainsaw can only dream of.

Battery powered saws come at a premium and are pricier to fix, which should be no issue if it's not in heavy usage.
I think that is why he always has plenty of it, people want it gone

Never seen a mesquite myself...mostly oak, soft deciduous, conifers, and fruit trees here.
I also can't be bothered to deal with the mess, noise and other bullshit that come with a gas saw.
You need not consult a Canadian or anyone else. I think we recently had a thread on which types of saws are best. You should be able to get everything you from there.
They have big ass thorns, and they’re smallish and not very aesthetic. It’s not the kind of tree you’d plant for your yard. Usually when people buy a chunk of land here, they clear it out.
I’ve tried smoking with it a little, but it can be overpowering IMO compared to other wood smoke flavor. It’s all personal preference, but I use oak or lump charcoal for the fire, and then hickory or pecan. But mesquite is used around here a lot for smoking.
one of the famous BBQ places here uses brined pecan shells on an oak fire as part of their secret smoke flavor recipe. Always thought that was clever.

I have my arborist license, cut down trees on the regular at work and do not own a chainsaw.
Chainsaws are overkill (and downright dangerous for people with no training) for a regular residential homeowner.
None of this information is relevant or productive.
We all know why you don't own a chainsaw.
