I've always hated "we did it for oil"; it's lazy thinking. Of course one could say that, and how can it be proven? Doesn't have to be, it's just a thing to say if you want to seem smart. This guy gets it.
When I asked it was to demonstrate that this whole idea of "America should stay or Afghanistan will be over run by the Taliban" is stupid.I've always hated "we did it for oil"; it's lazy thinking. 9/11 and why it happened will be slowly rewritten by American people unwittingly sympathetic to UBL and carrying the AQ excuses along. The Taliban and AQ both said it was for the oil.
Then, when Bin Laden was killed, people floated all sorts of ridiculous ideas as to why Obama pulled the trigger on him.
Ffs.
Iirc my earlier post ITT is "this is a mistake" and I wondered how long it would be before we were picking up after some preventable disaster asking how, how could this have happened??When I asked it was to demonstrate that this whole idea of "America should stay or Afghanistan will be over run by the Taliban" is stupid.
Sorry, but I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying America should be staying?Iirc my earlier post ITT is "this is a mistake" and I wondered how long it would be before we were picking up after some preventable disaster asking how, how could this have happened??
? Afghanistan is rich in mineral deposits, and China's strategy of collateralizing nations' natural resources in exchange for investment will come into play here. Really the question is, what's going to happen when the Taliban can't pay for that Chinese investment and China comes for those resources... And the opium. They're talking to China and Russia about integrating into the greater Eurasia project. The whole region is about to undergo rapid, intensive economic development and the Taliban are salivating over Chinese development funds and talking about reforming their ways and establishing an inclusive government. . I have no doubt there will be reprisals against collaborators, there always are, but I get the feeling that people who are expecting a descent into chaos they should prepare to be disappointed.
I'm saying it was gifting the country back to the Taliban.Sorry, but I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying America should be staying?
They went for Osama, and Osama got got. They didn't go to "nation build" and they've been failing at that for 20 years. Time to go.I'm saying it was gifting the country back to the Taliban.
It would be nice if more nations were willing to keep that shithole under the boot, because it's proven necessary.
AQ hasn't given up its dream. It hasn't stopped hating us. It would love to carry out attacks on US soil again.
I would wonder why they haven't been able to, but the reason is obvious.
Failing without help. Fine, time to go.They went for Osama, and Osama got got. They didn't go to "nation build" and they've been failing at that for 20 years. Time to go.
They failed with the entire western world's help.Failing without help. Fine, time to go.
We've seen what happens when afghanistan is left to its religious extremists.
So far it's been like predicting the sunrise.
You called the west cunts? They failed with the entire western world's help.
"Who we got?England... Japan's sending Playstations... Stankonia said they are willing to drop bombs over Baghdad... Rickidy Raw is coming! Afrika Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation."They failed with the entire western world's help.
What. The. Fuck.

They were the government before the American western occupation.What. The. Fuck.
Their role should be as targets.
And may they give an Oscar worthy performance.
And they knew where UBL was, and they heard our demand, and continued to protect him. Afghanistan is an absolute shit hole and needs to be occupied. Left to themselves, they do dirty. They were the government before the American western occupation.
Not really, no.And they knew where UBL was, and they heard our demand, and continued to protect him.
It's possible they couldn't turn him over, because they couldn't force it. But they didn't want to, and were certainly giving him aid and comfort. Not really, no.
Bush: Give us Osama. It's possible they couldn't turn him over, because they couldn't force it. But they didn't want to, and were certainly giving him aid and comfort.
Bush rejects Taliban offer to hand Bin Laden over

George Bush rejected as "non-negotiable" an offer by the Taliban to discuss turning over Osama bin Laden if the United States ended the bombing in Afghanistan.
"There's no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he's guilty". In Jalalabad, deputy prime minister Haji Abdul Kabir - the third most powerful figure in the ruling Taliban regime - told reporters that the Taliban would require evidence that Bin Laden was behind the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, but added: "we would be ready to hand him over to a third country".
You know your orange God was the one who signed a peace deal with the Taliban and set the original timeline to withdraw all troops, right?
