That doesn't change that they're both politically motivated.

Would you be cool with a crucifix and a MAGA flag?
Apples and oranges

Crucifix is about religion. Keep that shit away from children

MAGA is a specific political movement

The gay pride flag isn't political. More often than not, it's democrats who fly them. But that's just a function of democrats being more loving and accepting of the LGBTQ+ community

Same with the BLM flag imo. But since there is an actual organization called BLM, I could see why that flag should be removed from the classroom.

What I'm getting at with the rainbow flag is that there is no debate as to whether it's a good thing or bad thing. It's a good thing

And if you dont see that, you should do some soul searching

They're all ideological movements

Nope. The rainbow flag and the BLM movement aren't ideologies. They are just truth. Everyone deserves respect and love

Those flags are flown to show that some of us aren't prejudiced against those marginalized communities
Dude, you're literally saying that Jesus doesn't represent loving people. Give your head a shake.

no. im saying Jesus is make believe. if people want to celebrate that as my family does, go ahead. but do it in their own time

loving the LGBTQ+ and black communities should be a standard for all humans. unfortunately it is not. hopefully, each successive generation will be less bigoted than the last tho

Sure, but a rainbow flag isn’t a political view. Neither is Black Lives Matter. Those are social movements.
Can't we have both?
-Oregon's Liberal Cities

Many people I speak to that are full blown supporting the "current thing" and in the same conversation make sure I know that they are very anti the opposite political party(Orange Man).

Cultish IMO

I wish it wasn't political, but from what I have seen it certainly is.

I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t have an issue with a rainbow flag and I’m not a radical leftist. I also don’t have a problem with a BLM flag in there, and I don’t even support the organization. But to get upset by it because people think it’s indoctrination for kids, need to step back and take a look at the entire education system. Those people crying about the flags don’t have a problem with children being indoctrinated in other ways.

I hear ya 5th
I would home school at this point, I agree with Wild in that way as far as Oregon goes.

I don't have a problem with all the Movements, I hope they are organic and not largely funded but that is a different thread/discussion.

I don't like anything other than basic education in Schools. Let the Kids be Kids and keep it simple.

Yes, Indoctrination is nothing new, we all underwent some form of it during our schooling, and it has only ramped up since then.

Do they run flags in classrooms and sing the national anthem in the morning over there?
Here? Nope.

Not even sure you are required learn the anthem at all in school maybe in some states. Flags are only hissed on special occasions outside afaik.

What's a U.K. classroom/morning routine look like?
Back in my day (a long time back, I'm 50) there was no national anthem, no pledging allegiance, no flags at all (unless there was some special event going on). Just you know, learning a bunch of stuff.
