A nice place to discuss horror movies.

I recent viewed a dog shit movie with the terrible actor Nicholas Cage called Arcadian....

Its beyond garbage
I enjoyed that but I'm a fan of Cage. Tremendous actor when he tries and he was pretty good here.

Watching this low budget gem right now. “Feral retards hacking up people in nature” has to be one of my favorite genres.

It's been a long while since a film genuinely creeped me out. This one did it:

It's a bottle story, mostly contained in the basement of a funeral home that doubles as the county coroner's lab. What they think is a recent corpse of a young woman ends up being something much older and dangerous.

Just a really well done indie horror film.

This one was really good. One of the best that I have seen recently.

I thought this one was excellent. Genuinely creeped me out.

It didn't help that half way through it my dog got off the couch and went to the end of the hall and was growling. He would just look at me for a second when I'd call him and go back to staring down the hall pissed off. I finally got up to check it out and the fuckin cat was on the other end of the hall hissing. These two assholes were having a Mexican standoff at midnight. Lol

Watched this for a 2nd time on a plane earlier this month. Perfect tone to this one. Excellent filmmaking and skin-crawling creepiness.

8.5/10

Longlegs hit VOD today and against my better judgment, I’m going in. Had some mixed reviews on the OG thread, so we shall see.

So Nic Cage is pretty awesome, but I had trouble figuring out whether to laugh or be creeped out by his character. Was not worth the rental price, but I’d be fine watching it via something I already subscribed. 7/10 for Nic Cage and the general ambiance of the film.

When I was 10 years old my mom dropped me and a buddy off to watch Return of the Jedi. But instead of that we hopped into House of the Long Shadows with Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and John Carradine.

Not a particularly scary or gruesome film (rated PG) - but at 10 years old it scared the living fuck out of me.

Just started watching The Lodge. The dad's house is making me irrationally angry. Everything about it is retarded. The whole thing belongs in the design fail thread.

I watched Consumed last night. It was alright, not great. I do like horror movies in the forest. Not sure why but I always have. I was pretty into it at one point, but the ending really showed the low budget unfortunately. It was worth a watch but really only a 5.5 or 6 out of 10.

“Hell Hole” Shudder 2024 5/10

This is from the family that made “The Deeper You Dig,” which I thought was pretty good for a low budget flick. Unfortunately, this one was pretty bad. If you want to spoil the entire movie, watch the trailer. It has just about every creature scene in it. August was a rough month for shudder, but I should lower my expectations this close to October.

What's going on ladies?!? Who is watching what?
Man, it's so quiet here, isn't it?

Hopefully, with the influx of new members here from our old stomping grounds we'll see more activity.

Anyhow, I'm not going to watch any horror movies until after the fights tonight.

I finished The Lodge last night. The rest of it pretty much pissed me off as much as the dad's house did. Lol. If you don't think about it, it was alright until the twist. Once the twist comes then everything just becomes extremely stupid. I don't know. It's a little harder for me to suspend disbelief in psychological thriller/horror than a slasher I guess I'd rate it a 4 or 5/10

Watched Oddity last night. It was good. It had a creepy vibe that really didn't go away. I recommend it. 7.5/10

Rented this for a couple bucks and was definitely worth it. I’m always down for some Irish horror and I didn’t realize this was from the director of “Caveat,” so it was a pleasant surprise to see a large Easter Egg in this movie. Agree with the creepy vibe and can admit a few of the jump scares got me, 7.5/10.
