There was a lot of tannerite found in the guy's car. Saying that might lead people to think he was planning the use of a car bomb, but the tannerite hadn't been mixed which means it couldn't have been used so the police didn't want a shit show as a result of the comments made at the presser.
Makes sense. People currently arguing for gun control don't realize that a car full of tannerite would have been worse.

I already said it was a SureFire mag. There’s actually a stack of them in one pic
Had no idea what a sunfire mag was

Like lueVelvet @lueVelvet said
Even the cops are giving misinformation
I don't know if it's on purpose but it's extremely frustrating for anybody trying to make sense of this

yes

but, pre internet we got the official story shoved down the throats every single time...I would rather have a peek behind the curtain than go thru life with wool over me eyeholes
I would too, but as I said way earlier in this thread, search "Stephen Paddock" on Twitter and you'll see my point.

The information is nice for us to have, but the fact that anybody can share information at any time is allowing all of us to propagandize each other, and it's causing much of the tension that our society is experiencing. People blame the media and politicians, radical islam and "Libtards" or "Conservitards" (hate using those terms but they're appropriate for this point), but it's us that's doing the misinforming now. The government doesn't have to do shit when the populous propagandizes for them. I personally think the civil unrest between sides was completely avoidable and caused by our sharing of bad information through the internet, and it's only going to get worse because as things get more tense, the propaganda we share gets more contentious and problematic. The internet is great for freedom, but I don't think our populace was ready for it. I wouldn't take it away because that would be tyrannical, but had it never been invented I'm not sure we'd hate each other nearly as much.

That sounds about right. Finally someone who understands. On occasion he would bet more in a weekend but free room and board always made it worth it.
The guy explained that he probably even spent more than the 30k and had a 2nd card in marilou's name that he would switch to when he hit a certain amount

That's what I just read too
That it needed to be diluted or something first?

Probably. Or they would play together too sometimes but I would not put it past him to do that too.

Tannerite is a mix of two separate compounds that need to be combined before it becomes explosive. You can read the basics of it on Wikipedia and it'll be easy enough to understand.

Tannerite only explodes if hit by a bullet, right?

I actually agree with you that we are propagandizing for the government and the internet has made it extrmely easy for us to do that
The reason for this is that is so easy to put bullshit out there (all it has to do is have 1 loose connection) and people generally latch onto the 1st thing that hear about a situation
Another thing is that we always have to wait for debunking because you need facts for debunking that takes time which people fucking hate

With this case even the guys that are supposed to be giving us the facts, we know some of it is completely incorrect and that's bound to make a complete shit show

I'm putting up stuff as soon as I see it and unfortunately i know some of it is going to be false information
I will also put anything that debunks those claims the second I see them

It's ok imo to have an opinion on what happened but it's extremely important to not get married to that opinion and turn away from facts proving that opinion wrong

fair enough

Pre Internet was a total brainwash via media....not any better than current situation.

the hate has always been there...those who hate have it in them

As for the civil unrest...with or without internet the media manipulates the masses...make no mistake this unrest is part of an agenda that would be achieved thru any means possible

Internet does allow for a more powerful brainwash...so as a tool it is unbelievable effective.

Instead of the media brainwashing us, we are brainwashing each other while the media brainwashes us. It's made it grow exponentially, and it's dangerous, in my opinion. Possibly the most dangerous threat to our society is the fanaticism that we display on the internet, and the tension that it has built.

That's the thing- it's a valuable tool in the right hands. The problem is like voting, though. Most who vote don't have enough information to vote, and most who put their opinion on the internet don't have the cognitive tools to interpret what they're seeing. It's made it a lot harder for people to be informed, and it's made it a lot easier to "radicalize" people. That's how you get Antifa, Nazis in the streets and guys like Stephen Paddock. The hysteria caused by one mass shooting causes the next one, and that's because society can't handle the access to information that we currently have. As I said, I would never take it away, but I don't think it's better now. Sure, we all have more resources to search for the truth now, but as I'm sure you can see we never agree on what that truth is, even if we have every available statistic. What's the utility in that?

Very good point man
The crazies most definitely out number people who use logic these days

Even people who say they're logical have a tendency to allow bias to to cloud logic

Andrewsimar Palhardass @Andrewsimar Palhardass

or some of the mass shootings are orchestrated and they start the cycle

Your posts are good but they fail to recognize the possibility/probablility, that it is not just uninformed/radicalized civilians committing some of these acts.

Disinfo and manipulation is as old as time...its effectiveness is tried and true

Word of mouth>Written on paper>Radio>TV>Movies>Internet

This is just the latest tool.

I'm of the opinion that the government capitalizes off of things that they know inevitably will happen, rather than orchestrating things. There's a definite possibility that they do orchestrate things, and they certainly have before, but I'm not discounting governmental disinformation by focusing on the people. I am saying that the people have made the government nearly obsolete when it comes to brainwashing us. Facebook and Twitter effect public opinion much more substantially than the government now. I don't even really think it's close.

EDIT: Also, it's pretty clear to see how a lot of this craziness happens organically. I can see how a Stephen Paddock, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev or Adam Lanza is created, and the government isn't really needed when the internet exists. That's not to say that it was 100% the case, but it's not as crazy as it seems. It actually makes sense.

I did not imply government, you did...it is above their paygrade.

Government is played just like the masses.

Fact is that there are a few that control the "many"...I include the government in the "many".

Totally agree that the Internet is amazingly effective at muddying waters and dividing the masses...that is painfully obvious

enjoy

Okay... switch government with "the powers that be".
