The analogy would work better if Oregon didn't already have a win over them. Hard to say how things would have shaken out if Oregon had lost to Penn State. Is what it is, it'll likely be 10 years before Oregon wins a national title. Most of the programs they're in the mix with have been at it forever, Oregon has realistically been at it for like 15.
