If that includes allowing colonisation of another country by a hostile force, then trying to appease the aggressor, then you have absolutely nailed the Neville Chamberlain role.I'm willing to do everything conceivable to avoid war

You had said they tried to negotiate with Putin in good faith and they were rebuffed unless I misunderstood. So what are we even arguing about here?
Western leaders came to kiss his feet asking what they can do to avert a war, Putin said nothing, it's just an exercise and sent em all home after some nice pictures for him.So did he arrive to negotiate and then refuse or did he turn down an offer? I legit don’t know and would be curious what Russia was offered.
They had a referendum. It's not up to me to tell another place what country they have to be a part of. If Ukraine won't let them leave and a war starts as a result that's not our business. If that includes allowing colonisation of another country by a hostile force, then trying to appease the aggressor, then you have absolutely nailed the Neville Chamberlain role.
Na the whole nato thing is years in the making. At that point he already made his decision and didn't negotiate. So it went like this?
World- what would you like Vlad?
Vlad- No Ukraine in Nato
World- fuck off
Vlad- ok I’m leaving
World- he won’t negotiate
According to NATO they had too.Na the whole nato thing is years in the making. At that point he already made his decision and didn't negotiate.
NATO throughout this whole thing has stood by their policy that "NATO is an open door".
Sure, but we know now that he wanted much moreNATO throughout this whole thing has stood by their policy that "NATO is an open door".
Yad Vashem would break uSound like you need to visit the holocaust museum bud.
I was about to eviscerate uI concede the point, I was thinking solely of supply. Surely the benevolent leader of Russia wouldn't let his populace starve though? There's no precedent for that happening there. /s
The only ways that the war will end with Ukraine not being subjugated by Russia are defeat / collapse of the Russian military, or from internal pressure within Russia (or a combination of partial military collapse and internal rumblings).
It's a shitty situation for civilians in both countries, but Russia is the aggressor and Ukranians are suffering far far worse right now.
He wanted no NATO, Donbas and Crimea, and Ukraine to demilitarize. Obviously the last one isn't going to be happening under any circumstances.Sure, but we know now that he wanted much more

I just drove home from Toronto and my leg is killing me. The up and down on the pedal fucks me up.
And a puppet regime, and certain people eliminated. He wanted no NATO, Donbas and Crimea, and Ukraine to demilitarize. Obviously the last one isn't going to be happening under any circumstances.
Well, he can't have that. But we both know he wasn't going to be given any of those demands. And a puppet regime, and certain people eliminated.
True, but he thought he can reach em by force, so he wasn't interested in negotiating with anyone.Well, he can't have that. But we both know he wasn't going to be given any of those demands.
I don't think we have any reason to believe the invasion would have occurred if his demands were met. It's dishonest to frame Putin as the only party negotiating in bad faith, however I acknowledge some of his demands should not have been met.True, but he thought he can reach em by force, so he wasn't interested in negotiating with anyone.
