On the positive note, if you spend enough time looking at people posting on social media during this, you will no longer think that a nuclear holocaust is such a terrible outcome.

It's odd that when I talk to people about this. People who say "Well, we really need to do something, this guy is an unhinged psycho." and I ask, "So, you think picking a fight with an "unhinged psycho" with nukes is a good strategy?" I'm yet to have anyone say "Hmm, that's a good point. That might not be wise."

One thing this is showing is how badly NATO tech would body the Russians in a conventional war.
Yes, but when we're talking specifically anti-aircraft they are (likely) getting bodied by their own older tech, which is still pretty good.

Shooting shit down tech is close to NATO, they are just not in the same league with building shit to not get shot down.

Come again?
I’m just projecting my own frame of mind onto Putin most likely. I have one of those gut feelings like George Dubya that he’s got cancer or Parkinson’s and this is part of his endgame to secure his legacy as the first tzar of the new Russian Empire. It’s basically nonsense but so is Putin.

It’s true. Especially because I think Putin is terminally ill and doesn’t care about the future beyond having a legacy.
I also think just from a practical sense.

People seem to think that the Ruskies in 2022 are the scary Ruskies of the 60s. I mean I guess, technically they are, because they're still using all the same gear, but that's a bug, not a feature.
