And what was your experience?

Is he (dad) for or against?
dad is Strong No.

i've always been of the opinion that anyone dumb enough to want to join the military should be allowed to...

but my advice was to take a veteran with you to talk to the recruiter. They won't have the balls to lie to your face in front of someone who's wise to the game.

She wants to do medical, but I think her motives are more about getting out from under Mom's thumb ASAP.

This is a wild pony that no one has been able to break. Five toddlers have died trying. My daughter broke it in 5 minutes.

Since New Year's, my son has been carrying around this $5 bill that was "burning a hole in his pocket" to hear him tell it. I was like you can actually save money. It's allowed, but he was obsessed with finding something to buy himself for $5. So a couple weeks go by and he still hasn't had occasion to spend it. He was watching stuff on YouTube and suddenly went up to his mom and said "mom, here's my $5. Donate it to the Australian fire relief." So I'm feeling myself, being all like dang we raised that boy right, he's learning how to redistribute wealth then I go to my email and see this little mofo didn't complete 2 class assignments and got 2 Fs for the end of last year, so we took away his YouTube privileges, made him read the post from Sheepdog @CreativeClassMauler and spent his money on Mead composition notebooks and Bic lighters.

Here in a bit we’re taking our son (6) to see a Wild Kratts live action show at a big theater in town. Wild Kratts is a PBS kids show about animals from all around the globe. This will be his first live show/theater experience, and he is pumped up!

I wonder how much the merch tables will get me for :D

don't have any kids but I think this would be very relevant for a parent about to put their kid in school:

How Google Took Over the Classroom

Google has flooded schools getting kids on their Chromebooks at an early age of 5 who use these throughout their schooling until they graduate - then Teachers recommend transferring all their data over to their gmail account.

Since Google is in the business of advertising and making money off the users this seems like a whole lot of bullshit.

My son saw this when I was checking on the Bellator schedule and said, "Why does that guy have two heads?!" It was a funny moment. He really thought it was one man with two heads for a minute.

i've been doing 'survival swim' classes with my 3 yo.

waterproof your kids.
My daughter is a fish. I’ve been swimming with her since she was 3 months old. She just turned 4, and she can swim the length of the pool, she does front and back somersaults in the water, and just yesterday she was able to jump in and swim to the bottom of the deep end to pick up toys. She’s fearless, it’s awesome. The other day we were at my sister in laws, her 12 year old daughter dove into the pool, before anyone said anything my daughter walked up to the pool and belly flop/face planted, trying to copy her. I’ve been trying to make her as confident as I can, and I don’t know it’s nature or nurture, but she pushes herself and will give anything a shot.

for me, same principle as firearms. I can't "gun proof" the world, so I have to "gun-proof" my kids. Teach them about firearms from a "safety first" perspective and get all their curiosity out.

World is 70% water, and you can drown in a couple feet of it...just makes sense to "water proof" kids. Especially since it took me <30m/day for 10 days to get them to where they can fall in fully clothed and get themselves out.
