Such a clear and obvious point of difference that to even make the "point" that science and religion are essentially the same because they have both promoted inaccuracies....... you pretty much either have to be a legitimate moron, or just a boring troll.

??
Not necessarily.
I'm sure a lot of people who make the equivalence are being sincere; they just haven't studied the differing ways in which both weigh evidence to arrive at their respective conclusions.

I think both religion and science are best left to the folks who know it, as they seem unlikely to ever be reconciled.

Though my friend the Lutheran is a science teacher, and is faithful to his religion.
I was taught in a Catholic school and heard both the myth of creation and the Theory of Evolution - and not some watered down version. Looking back, I'm kind of impressed at that

Science has a self-correcting mechanism, that enables new conclusions if evidence or theory warrant such. It's called the scientific method.
"In science, 'fact' can only mean confirmed to such a degree that to withhold provisional assent is perverse."

Religion, all of them I think, are certain of their facts and no evidence can dislodge them.
It's supposed to. What you generally find is different factions of scientists all claiming to be the ones doing "The real science". Covid has been the most public example of science being a religion.

Not sure I can parse this.

"Factions" is a loaded word in this context.

Claiming to do the "real science", can you point to any scientist or institution making this claim?

Scientists coming to differing conclusions is as old as science itself. Again, the correcting mechanism at play.

Example, it's correct to refer to the Theory of Gravity. But it's confirmed to such a degree that it effectively is a Law (excepting special situations that don't happen on Earth). No one seriously argues for some other explanation.

But at one time, why birds don't simply fall from the skies was a matter of wild speculation.

Dr.Fauci/The CDC/NIH.

Health Canada for example has different guidelines than the CDC. Both of them say they're the ones who are right, and that if you question it it's because you're a "science denier".

i have a physics degree, and gravity is one of the cutting edge areas of research.

"Attacks On Me, Quite Frankly, Are Attacks On Science."
- Tony Fauci telling you that he is The Science (tm) and to disagree with him is to deny the omniscience of The Science (tm)

You’ve never done a science

Can you show where each side claims to be right and claims any dispute equals science denial? Are the scientists themselves or their employers saying this, or is it being misrepresented in media oversimplification as so often happens?

Not saying anything beyond asking. Is it impressions more than specifics?

Always. Does that make what I said incorrect?

Oof, he done said something dumb. I tried to give him the benefit of context, but his further comments don't undercut that self importance.

Though he should know not to make an argument from authority.

That’s the problem with dunning-Kruger

everyone does it sometimes
However, instances can only be labeled as such if the person has the vulnerability to eventually realize they aren’t actually an immediate expert on a subject. As you know that never happens at TMMAC because everyone here knows everything about everything.

It’s sad we aren’t more influential. We could save this world

Here's the WHO saying not to mix vaccines, and Canada saying "No, it's fine."

Here's the CDC saying "It's okay under a few rare circumstances"

and then there's the ever fun Astrazeneca vaccine that isn't deemed safe enough for Americans, but in country's that are short on vaccines it's basically all they're offering. In Canada it was safe, then we got MRNA vaccines, and it was then shelved. Oh, when some from our advisory panel said "I understand why if you're younger you might want to wait until you can get an MRNA vaccines rather than AZ I understand." She was publicly pilloried for it:

The bigger issue is that people around here seem to have difficulty understanding the difference between regular people having opinions, and people thinking they're experts.

….that plus people not realizing their opinions aren’t actually facts.
