what demonstrates what? you're being obtuse. It's been demonstrated. The fact that you're making cases for the actions of people who are using different explanation themselves demonstrates that.

If you're not seeing security theater, you're going out of your way not to look.what demonstrates what?
Where should I be seeing security theater in my day to day?If you're not seeing security theater, you're going out of your way not to look.
It will change depending on your day to day. Schools, borders, and airports are great examples.Where should I be seeing security theater in my day to day?
OK, so I don't see those. TSA is a joke though, I've got ammo on a plane before, completely by mistake. It will change depending on your day to day. Schools, borders, and airports are great examples.
Do you mean you don't see them as security theater or you don't interact with those institutions.OK, so I don't see those.
are you saying that vaccinations are security theater? If you're not seeing security theater, you're going out of your way not to look.
I don't interact with those things.Do you mean you don't see them as security theater or you don't interact with those institutions.
and yes, your ammo on a plane is a prime example.
No.are you saying that vaccinations are security theater?
Fauci is a politician. He's not a scientist, nothing he says is about science. Why do people keep talking about "what Fauci says" after the guy admitted to lying to them out of self-interest?No.
A guy who's vaccinated, outside, by himself wearing a mask is security theater.
or for an even more obvious example. Fauci and his constant contradicting of himself.
Because it's security theater, and the public is a tremendous audience.Fauci is a politician. He's not a scientist, nothing he says is about science. Why do people keep talking about "what Fauci says" after the guy admitted to lying to them out of self-interest?

And fear not: the May 15 sexfest is requiring either a negative COVID test or proof of vaccination prior to entry, and SNCTM staff will be masked. Guests must also wear masks, albeit of the Eyes Wide Shut variety, and the dress code is tuxedos for men and dresses with lingerie underneath for women.
This. Now this is how you motivate people to get vaccinated.Enjoy your lack of hedonism pleb!

On May 15, SNCTM—an exclusive sex club—is set to host an 80-person bash in Downtown Manhattan. Masks are not optional.www.thedailybeast.com
just because you can use a real thing as a theater prop doesn't make it less of a real thing.Because it's security theater, and the public is a tremendous audience.
Sanitation and masks have been demonstrated to be fairly tenuous in terms of efficacy given that the virus is airborne and largely spreading that way. I do however appreciate that you're now acknowledging that security theater is taking place.just because you can use a real thing as a theater prop doesn't make it less of a real thing.
masks, vaccines, social distancing/sanitation, contact tracing are all real things.
Simply because someone seizes on them to play Public Health Dress-Up doesn't change their efficacy.
of course - i don't think I ever denied it. The theatrics of the pandemic have been non-stop, and frankly pretty disheartening.Sanitation and masks have been demonstrated to be fairly tenuous in terms of efficacy given that the virus is airborne and largely spreading that way. The Hill tends to be pretty hard on both sides.@ThatOneDude
is The Hill considered a usable source? I think they're moderately biased, but I found this piece to be pretty down-the-middle.

There's a benefit to sanitation and masks and the benefit is nowhere near people have pretended it to be for months now. The problem is when it's publicly acknowledged it paints them into yet another corner they'll try to lie their way out of.of course - i don't think I ever denied it. fake science theatrics, fake origin theatrics, fake infectivity theatrics... I expected it, I just didn't expect such a receptive audience for swallowing bullshit.
Regarding masks and sanitation - there's no debating that masks and sanitation reduce the amount of virus you're exposed to, so there is a benefit. Compared to the effectively null cost of masks/sanitation, there never should have been any debate about it. But some actors and directors wanted to tell a story where they weren't the bad guy, so they grabbed some real stuff and treated it like props.
I'll allow it.@ThatOneDude

you can't hold The Thing accountable for the ways people misrepresent it.There's a benefit to sanitation and masks and the benefit is nowhere near people have pretended it to be for months now. You're veering from civil disagreement to petty insult. I'm game for the first, but have no interest in the second.you can't hold The Thing accountable for the ways people misrepresent it.
it doesn't cost anything. It provides undeniable benefit when used properly across a population. The benefit of masks and sanitation is well-documented, relevant, and meaningful.
Stop voting for, and listening to, the people who lie to you and fuck you for their own benefit.
