woahIt's water and flour, you use it to activate the wild yeast on the flour and then use pieces of the starter to make bread. You'd use the sourdough starter as your yeast.
it is pretty coolwoah
so can I use this process to make any bread where I'm missing yeast?
how long?
regular all purpose flour?

There was none at my Kroger either. King Arthur has flour and yeast available. Just bought 10 lbs of all purpose and 10 lbs of bread flour and a pound of yeast. I'm about to spin up a bakery.this is why there was no yeast at the store!!!

Fuck I should make some chilliyes. A big vat of delicious chili.
I can give you and update later tonight on how good it is.
On a serious note, are you actually out of food? Grocery stores here are crazy.
Do you have ground meat and spices?I'll look up a recipe. This will be the greatest chilli of the night
Get some ground beef or turkey or pork or a combo of the 3. I also put beans in my chili, @Splinty is probably offended by that, but he's wrong if he is.Nope and nope.

Exactly like this! I used to bake sourdough a lot and the starter was fed daily. It was like taking care of a goldfish. Sourdough pancakes were my favorite! Fuck it, I’m making a new starter.woah

Its super simple, I'm 99% sure I could start making bread with my starter today, but I'm going to feed it one more time before baking anything.I actually like the recipe that @ThatOneDude posted a couple pages back. It tells you exactly how to grow and maintain your starter.
